18 Experts and 520 Trainees in the First Conference on e-learning and Distance Learning



   The Scientific Committee of the First Conference on e-learning and Distance Learning has accredited 42 scientific papers which will be presented in 19 sessions. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz will patronize the conference during the period from 16 to 18 - 3 - 2009 in Faisaliah Hotel in Riyadh.


   The Head of the organizing Committee, General Director of the National Center for e-learning and Distance Learning, Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Megren has clarified that the conference will include seven main themes: Contemporary international variables and their impact on E-learning, the e-learning environment in the era of globalization and knowledge-based economy, Requirements to design and implement e-learning and distance learning programs, the processes of teaching, learning and designing of electronic curricula, e-learning and people with special needs, Quality and evaluation and International experiences in E-learning and distance learning.


    Al-Megren has added: “the number of research papers and researches which were received by the Scientific Committee are 300 participations wrote by more than 500 researchers from 117 academic institutions  from 28 countries around the world.  The number of registereds is more than 2600 participants”.  Dr. Al-Megren has pointed out that the number of the workshops is 14 workshops presented by 18 international experts for 520 trainees during two days.
